One of my favorite places on earth is Uganda. The striking beauty of deep blue skies, green foliage, and red dirt is matched only by the joy and open-hearted nature of its people. One of the treasures of Uganda is Lake Victoria, also known as the source of the Nile. I used to only think of the Nile as a peaceful river that brought salvation to Moses as he floated to Pharaoh's daughter in a basket. The last time I was in Uganda, I had the opportunity to spend some time along the shores of this mighty river. Let me tell you, at its source the Nile has currents so strong that I didn’t even dare to put a toe in it, for fear of being swept away.
Connecting your church community with missions resources can feel like you are trying to walk into the Nile at its source. There are so many organizations, educational resources, agencies, opinions, and materials available; it can be difficult to know where to start. Our hope is this blog will help you and your faith community navigate through all of the resources at your fingertips.
