About Liz - Director of Curriculum and Content

Elizabeth Mendoza has been working in ministry since 2010 when a yearlong church internship turned into a life-long career of caring and advocating for the most vulnerable. Her heart to see individuals transformed through cross-cultural ministry has led her all over the world. She served full-time as the Missions Coordinator at Riverside Community Church where she equipped leaders and led trips into Haiti, Uganda, Hungary, and the Rio Grande Valley to invite people into the story God is telling around the world. Her passion for empowering the local church to take part in God’s global story eventually led her to World Vision, where she serves as Texas Area Director for Endurance, inviting the local church to care for the most vulnerable through tangible action. She currently resides in Houston, TX.

About Kalyn - Director of Strategic Planning

Kalyn McDaniel first visited Haiti at 15 years old and it was this trip, and the face-to-face confrontation with the deeply diverse experiences of people in this world, that led her to know God. Her heart for change at systemic levels led her to study Development Economics at Colorado Christian University where she has conducted graduate research on the link between poverty and terrorism in Gaza, the orphanage industry in Haiti, and the unique role of Faith-Based Organizations in the world of sustainable development. Her research and missions experience has granted her the opportunity to develop curriculum and teach about poverty in the US, South Africa, and Australia. She is married to Logan and currently lives in Denver, Colorado where she is continuing research.

About Niaya - Creative Director

Niaya Ramirez is a student, currently studying graphic design at Texas State University. She is passionate about the outdoors, art, and her faith. For her, being raised in the church means she has seen the good, the bad, and the ugly of church life. As much as she appreciates and values the experiences she was blessed with by her church community- there are many that she looks back on and cringes because of how unhealthy and/or painful it was for everyone involved. She is ecstatic to be apart of a vision that aims to help raise up, educate, and empower the church so we can empower others instead of bringing more unintentional harm to those we are trying to help.
